They probably will take more than one turn, since each ungrapple attempt is tried separately. But it's possible to throw 2 ones or twos (what it takes to grapple or ungrapple) on the same turn. No, they ungrapple immediately. Every turn, you can roll a dice to ungrapple each grapple: in the case of friendly ships it always succedes so you are immediately free. In game 720198 I'm attempting to ungrapple with a struck, hulled, formerly captured, friendly ship (and grapple a unfriendly ship next to me that has no crew). It's taken a couple of rounds so far and I'm still grappled. When do we see the Beta rules published to live? In game 720198: on turn 11 and 12 your ship America tried to ungrapple from Adamant but failed. This is correct because Adamant was captured (so it wasn't friendly) and you probably failed the ungrapple roll. At the end of turn 12, Adamant surrendered. on turn 13 and 14 you are now trying to *grapple* Adamant. In both turns, you succeded in doing so, rising the number of grapples to 3. This is correct too, surrendered ship are considered friendly, so both grapple and ungrapple rolls should always succed.
About transferring Beta rules to live: unfortunately, I don't know. The original idea was to do that once Advanced Rules were completed, but that is clearly taking too long as I'm currently too busy to do any development on WSIM. Next chance is probably this summer, hoping I do get some break from work. |
