I am not sure that I completely buy into your Kill/Death ratio as a means of determining who is a good pilot. I am of the opinion that Kill/Death ratio is just a piece of the puzzle to be weighed along with other factors, as the Kill/Death ratio can be intentionally manipulated, see SpinaBros, kill/death ratio of 626:175, over 3:1.
Also, the kill/death ratio is also reflective of the types of missions that particular pilot likes to fly in, not just skill. Pilots who tend to fly in equally balanced 1x1, 2x2 missions against like experienced pilots may be very good but don't have a high Kill/Death ratio because they tend to fly against high-caliber opponents in equally balanced scenarios. Vice-Versa, pilots who tend to fly in unbalanced scenarios in the better plane against newbies will probably have a high kill/death ratio that is probably not a true indicator of their actual skill.
I think this discussion goes back to the discussion/voting regarding respected pilots being conducted by Imdog. The true indicator of skill seems to me that a skilled pilot is someone that your fellow pilots want on their side and are concerned when that pilot is flying on the opposing side. The stats, kill ratio, average points per game, wins, etc., can indicate skill but need to be viewed with a critical eye.
That said, the Troll Tournament 2 wrapped up about a month ago. The dominant pilot was TnT, overall Kill/Death ratio entering the tournament of approximately 3.3. The pilot with the "worst" kill/death ratio entering the tournament also had the "worst" kill/death ratio in Troll Tournament 2. Of note, the pilot with the best, overall, Kill/Death Ratio entering Troll Tournament 2, finished in the middle of the pack for kill/death ratio in Troll Tournament 2.
Stats from Troll Tournament 2 should be posted by the end of the month.
