If you want to know how good you are, don't bother looking at other players. Instead consider this:
-Have you played balanced scenarions (roughly equal number of planes, you can click on the statistics page and see how each acenario usually ends)? If you haven't, your results won't tell you much...
-How many kills have you gotten compared to the number of times you've been killed? An average pilot should have a ratio of ~6 to 5 IIRC.
-How many games have you won? If you've played 4 4-player games and won one, you should be about average.
