Most of the times I crash when I chase heavy bombers. The combination of high speed dive against low speed large target and killing adrenaline sometimes brings me too closer.....
The other way round. Against heavy (WWII) bombers, head-on is the best approach. Charge from hig 12, aim for cockpit or engines, boom-boom all your guns (rockets do it better! ) and zoom away from al those bad-bad ugly 12 and 20 mm guns that want to hurt you.
