As for Spain -- hell, I took my ancient laptop on my honeymoon in 1987 so I could keep up with my Diplomacy moves on Compuserve... hehe. In Spain, every town had an internet cafe where for a euro an hour you could get your webmail, etc.

But I can totally relate to the weekend problem; I had the same thing last weekend -- at work I can check all the time -- but when the wife wants to go to Ventura for breakfast on Sunday morning and it ends up being all day, it's just not gonna happen haha.
