This is a new laptop, so I'm sure it's something to do with the config. It doesn't happen on other machines with IE8.
I have seen this strange glitch in IE8 before. It happened after one of the regular Windows Update. From then on I started using Firefox and later on Chrome to play. The performance of this site is better in Firefox and Chrome.
P.S. Chrome seems to have the best performance with YouPlay. It helps when I am using it on a i7-2670QM laptop with 16gb of RAM. 
Maybe Nick or BlueDragon has more insight in this.
