I've noted that, mainly in leagues, it has started to be the usage to retire without honor a little bit too often.
I've no problem in admiting that, from time to time, often not to give to someone the satisfaction to shoot me down, or when it is the decisive point to win the league, I can commit a retirement without honor, but I usually avoid it and it has a reason.
For sure I try to avoid the situation to run out of fuel far away from my exit side. I don't find it historic nor fair.
