1) Each pilot is allowed to fly only 1 mission in each campaign week of the game. Is this true for elves?
Simply, no. When you see the report for Week 1 you will understand how I am monitoring the Elves.
2. Do all pilots in this game start the game as novice pilots and have to avoid using the restricted moves? Is this true for elves?
Yes all pilots in Squadrons start as novice pilots and have no restricted moves. For some missions Elves will be allowed the restricted moves. These are "Special" missions that will only appear once every few months.
3. You must complete three training missions before becoming experienced. Does this mean if any squadron member is shot down during a training mission then you did not complete the mission so it doesn't count as one of the three?
Yes that is correct, you have to survive three training missions to become experienced. If your mission is to be trained in survival and someone is shot down and killed then it hasn't been a success. If someone is shot down and survived then it is a learning experience and the mission is a success.
4. Does flying other missions that are not training missions count as one of the three or do only training missions count?
Only Training Missions count as Training Missions.
5. How does one know when they become an experience pilot? Is the squadron leader aware of the status or is someone else keeping track?
At the end of each campaign week the Squadron Coordinator receives a report detailing each pilot's experience, quality (novice, experienced or ace), income, expenditure and damage to planes. Sounds complex but is actually an Excel spreadsheet that has two active cells that need to be completed.
6. Do elves start out as novices and worry about becoming experienced? If so do they keep track of their allied and German stats separately or are they combined?
I am keeping score of every player, Elf or otherwise, as I do have a prize for the best pilot. I like the prize so I am going to try and keep it by sometimes flying in a mission myself as an Elf.
Elves have two jobs - they replace missing pilots who don't join a game, and they fly special missions for me.
When flying for a Squadron then they are treated exactly the same as any other squadron member - experience, restricted moves and kills.
When flying a mission for me - they don't get the experience just a big thank you.
This way I'm trying to make sure everyone gets the chance to fly every game week and possibly win the campaign.
