From time-to-time squadrons set up private matches between themselves. In the past, there've been some squadron tourney's organized. Joining a squadron gives you a chance to take part in such kinds of events. Some squadrons seem to be organized in to subflights, which may fly together more regularly. Some squadrons have their own web sites and private forums. Being in a squadron, doesn't necessarily obligate you to fly, as most squadrons have a fair number of members, but does offer a little different sort of experience.
