March 9th 2008: Running faster
Dear youplayers,
in the last days we worked on speeding up the database, reindexing table, optimizing queries, removing locks and other amazing Database Administration tasks.
The site is now much faster than before, we hope you noticed it.
Just to give you an idea of the change, here's two data:
average page view per visit in the last week rose to 23.81 from 17.15 of two weeks ago.
In the same date, the average length of a visit went down to 32.34 minutes from 35.06.
This is around 38% faster!

February 23th 2008: Sfatula wins the 2007 Wooden Ships World Cup
Sfatula is the winner of the first Wooden Ships World Cup played on our site.
The cup was disputed by 34 of the WS&IM players and taken around 5 months to complete.
You can see the two games of the final here:

At the bottom of the map there are the history buttons, that allows you to follow of the games move by move.
The Cup was hosted by SirLindsley who took care of all the rounds.

Dear youplayers,
many of you had reported Ridiculously incongruous or unreasonable values for the Online players counter at the bottom of the pages in the past weeks.
That was due to a problem with the last update of the system that is now fixed.

Dear youplayers,
we now have a bookmark button in the main menu. This can be used to share youplay.it with other people through the usual social bookmarking site, or to add it to your bookmarks.
