Ahh yes, I have many fond memories of Trafalgar, mostly of the time it took to just set it up!
The other thing about the original scenarios is the lack of medium-sized engagements... they're either frigate-on-frigate (not that's there's anything wrong with that ) or massive fleet engagements. Personally, I'd love to see more scenarios with, say, 4 to 6 ships on each side. I think a lot of people find the one-on-one scenarios boring and the big scenarios intimidating. I have no evidence to back that up, just a gut feeling based on the games one sees on the main site.
Several months ago I started looking for historical medium-sized engagements we could use, but real life got in the way. This has kind of piqued my interest. I've never submitted a scenario, but if you want to work on anything like that let me know and I'd be happy to research it, look at balance issues, etc. |
