I don't know if chatting up the subject earlier (a week or so ago) in the forum gave some folks the idea, but I have suddenly been experiencing a literal rash of players who have suddenly decided it is both prudent and fashionable to garner a 4-10 (or less) point lead, then maintain consistent 3 speed manuevers until fuel is low enough to retire for the 2-0 win.
I have encountered this in the past but not to this degree. 4 different players 8 games (thus far)almost all of them league matches.
And that's just this week.
No finger pointing, no names or flame-war material, as experience has proven this to be pointless and damaging to the site mentality/morale as whole I believe.
So none of that, just a saddened and dissapointed Fen.
Besides: If statistical "prowess" in an online boardgame is that important to these blokes they dont have time to listen to me whine as they probably have much larger issues to address.
(Like malignant narcissistic personality disorder perhaps).

Now I said I wouldn't get cheeky, so I wont but if you start seeing a bit less of me (assuming this fad continues)in the future you'll know why.

Fen - I'm in a multi-player league, and all of my games thus far, with every single member of the league has been one of - let's fly around and not shoot so we get away intact with some points.
I have been shot down so many times I have now adopted the same tactics as I have been damaging enemy planes, they finish them off when there is no engine left - I get no points for having been killed - they get lots of points for killing and surviving.
I thought multi-player games I may get one or two - but seven other players!
Next time I think about complaining about a tactic I'll keep my big fat mouth shut - so players don't copy the crappy tactics I'm complaining about.
