Often I set my guns to long burst at all ranges or switch them back to medium at all ranges and to do that I click on each individual box. I am thinking that a modification could be added where if you click on the word "long" all your settings change to long bursts and likewise if you click on the word "medium" all you gun bursts would set to medium. Of course you could still click on the individual boxes if you want a variety of settings. I think this would save a little time for the players now and then.

My opinion: Setting Short Bursts has little purpose unless you are playing the boardgame that has 'ammo rules' for the limited ammo, reloadable Lewis Guns.  sometimes ill set to short if close to end or chasing opposing player off board in league game just to avoid higher chance of jam till end On this sight you can't even use "Short Bursts". Only Medium and Long may be used. In the board game, by moving from Medium to Short you got no additional "anti-jamming" benefit. Short bursts were also useful for those who implemented house rules for ammo. For example, LB might use 4, MB 2 and SB 1 ammo. This led to different shooting strategies as plane ammo loads were not always the same. markrendl Mark, I see, but I'm just looking at it as a "pureist" in relation to the original board game (and never have seen the benefit of "house ammo rules anyway). Virtually all other WW I air combat games I've played have ammo stats for planes. Same is true for WW II and mod jet wargames I've played. Thus, it would seem the use of your ordinance and how much you have, is a reasonable factor to include in the game. Canvas Eagles has added ammo rules and stat's for planes, so the info, relative to Blue Max, is readily available. markrendl
Ammo limits would become like fuel limits. It would end up as an option for addition of multiples of ammo. |
