| Message text I'm not a Forum crawler any more, but still feel the need to express an observation made over the past year, when both BM and WSIM began sharing the same Forum space.
Why is it fairly easy to recognize the players well-versed in BM suddenly commanding Ships-of-the-Line? It's gotten pretty easy: They still maneuver as if the guns were pointing straight ahead, and not on the sides.
The natural result of this observation is the preponderance of rakes being offered up by these newer players. I don't play BM, as a 3-dimensional fighting space is very difficult to replicate in a 2-dimensional board game (I've tried it before in the Ancient period of gaming), but I think I could at least recognize the difference in vehicle type, and where the business end(s) is/are located.
So for you stick jockeys, try to pretend you're flying AC-131 Spectres instead of DR-1s, and if you want to strafe the target turn your sides to 'em. But don't learn this from me until after we've played together a few more times, and I teach you the hard way! |
