Hi everyone. I just started work on a 3D version of canvas eagles. It isn't meant to replace this site, just to allow for solitaire play, and multiplayer real time or even email based. The best part is that it is 3D using directX, ore specifically XNA. I will eventually need help with the 3D modelling as the Fokker I will be using is somewhat crude but good enough for now as a place holder... all comments are welcome.

Do you know what make this site and site like TakeAPlay attractive? You do not need to download anything!
From the look of it, your Virtual Eagles will require download and installation on the local machine especially you want DirectX. I'll be afraid to download and install things like that not know what sort of strange thing these programs will do to my computer. I am saying it as software developer myself. People prefer thin clients these days without any downloads if possible with the exception of Flash and maybe Silverlight.
Maybe you want to take a look at using Flash and/or Silverlight to do it instead.
Yes, you are right dcr66. It will require a download, but I believe it will be my goal to miniize the size of the download. This program is FREE and is done out of a passion for the game. There are some things that flash cannot give you, for example a cockpit seat view of the game. Also as a hardcore gamer, I am quite used to downloading alot, whether its patches, mods, etc. Last of all, I'm doing this for phone. I do not intend to harm anyone's computer. Just because something has to be downloaded and is free doesn't always me that it is harmful or malicious in nature. I do appreciate your comments and thank you for posting
