I will inquire on Monday. Has the wind been reversed in all scenarios (pirates not included)? I know at one point that was also in the works. I had built a 6-on-6 scenario by reducing one of the historical scenarios out of the old game's rule book, but it was deemed to be too unbalanced, as I kept the "English crack vs French average" crew ratings. Truthfully, either the points ratings of the ships must be changed, or the "crack vs average" crew ratings must remain, otherwise the scenario becomes unbalanced when played in "basic rules" mode where the French can always resort to boarding if the encounter seems to be going against them, and then the smaller English crews often find themselves completely overwhelmed.
Other than Arbuthnot and Havana5 on the non-pirates scenario, everything else has the wind reverse variations. I think we can use some scenarios that look like these: Battles that involves Frigates only. Not 1 on 1 but multiple frigates on each side. Frigates taking on SOLs.
They don't have to be balanced as long as it is winnable for both sides even in Simplified rules. |
