It happens to me sometime when your opponent is about to be sunk. Try a different combination of moves may help.

It has fixed itself. Of course. The screen would go to a Microsoft error message. Sorry didn't get the #. But it was when we were both about to sink each other, so it was pretty much like your experience I would suppose.
