I bet this has been done before but, there's no harm in revisiting from time-to-time.

I am very happy with the basic structure of the Blue Max game and the general consistency of the movement schedules with how the aircraft being simulated are depicted. It remains as good as any board game ever produced.

But there are one or two inconsistency that - if the game is updated again at some point - would be worth some consideration.

So here goes:

1) OBSERVER FIRE: There is nothing stable about a ring-mounted machine gun. Compared with a fixed MG, it is UNstable. Therefore, I think that any MG fired by an observer should be STABILITY C. And I would submit the F2B should have NO advantage over the Halb CLII in my opinion with regard to the observer stability. (I am aware the F2B had two Lewis guns but the advantage v disadvantage of 2xLewis is already counteracted on youplay by the parabellum's heavier, more consistent fire)

2) The Seimens-Schukert DIV/Sopwith Snipe should not turn as hard as the triplanes. Anecdotal readings suggest the Snipe could not turn as hard as the Camel. It is an easy fix - just remove the 11L2 and 11R2 from the schedule. Those two are still demons without them.

3) The Camel's right turn needs more emphasis. Maybe a Camel-only move that is like a 16R3 but with a further one facing change left at the end.

4) The Bristol F2B is faster than the game simulates. That is fair enough both for reasons of balance, plus the slower speed in the game might reflect a level of sluggishness. Still - how about a RESTRICTED 4S4? It could simulate the F2B's turn of speed but also means it can only be employed only after a 3S3.

5) I think a 17L3 and 17R3 would be a fair addition to the Alb DIII schedule to make it a closer alignment to the Alb DVa.

6) The Pfalz DIIIa turning better than a Camel? Don't think so. Maybe make the 11L1 move a restricted maneuver?

... and finally, to make life fractionally more pleasant for anyone unlucky (or stupid) enough to lose an engine or run out of fuel -
7) add the [8] move for a plane that is gliding. It still makes you a sitting target but at least gives you some options.
