Let's face it, boardgames are for older guys. The new generations only like videogames. I wonder if there are any players at all under 21.
There are dedicated kids rooms at a couple game conventions here in the San Fransisco Bay area. The kids play board and card games with each other while the adults are off playing BM, D&D, Miniatures, Puerto Rico, etc. I don't know if this exposure will lead to young adults taking a turn a day on youplay... but not much in the modern world would lend itself to that lack of instant gratification.
I think you will find a few. It will be interesting to see how many, if any, found the site on their own.
I would guess that most of our parents played board games with us as kids, so you cant hold that against them. After all, most of the people we 40 and overs new as kids played board games, but most of those people don't play them with other adults now. And I don't know a single adult who plays board games, who didn't as a child or young adult. |
