Pfalz DXII. It's just a waste of time flying that crappy plane. It has a B stab. and it can't turn. The only good thing it has going for it is that it has a lot of fuel for a German plane.
In the old board game (with up to 8 regular players) we had a "stud file" where we basically recorded the lives (and deaths) of our best pilots. Because my best pilot was in an Albatros DVa, whenever it was time for my other pilots to graduate from the Albatros DIII after enough missions, I'd go for something different - either the Pfalz DIIIa, Pfalz DXII or eventually the Fokker DVII (our rules would not allow players to start with a better plane than the DIII). Frankly, the DXII was such a death trap that those who stayed in the Albatros DIII or went for the Pfalz DIIIa had a better survival record. For the record, that Albatros DVa pilot is still alive, 15 years later. |
