I'm back with some answers.
1. About the restricted access, Administrator said it is not possible, although it could be a kind of solution to put some screen captures inside a post in the International Forum for example. Do you think it could be ok?
Anyway, all I can say is that it is a turn based game where many different players (usually various although it can be just one for each side) play by turns giving orders to their ships about their sails, gunnery, ammo reload,... when all captains have given their orders (with a time limit of 24 hours) turn advances and results are posted in the form of damages from shots, crashes, assaults, sinking ships et all. Also there are special damages that can be reported here. There are no hexes and your movement is limited by wind, sail status, hull status and the kind of tripulation of your ships (from green to elite)
2. I have entered to download the manual and it didn't ask me for a password  might it be that you did try to print it? I've just thought about this. I will ask the administrator anyway as it might have to do with this...
