Dear Youplayers, it is time to battle again for the Cup. Feuerkugel Jagdgeschwader - as champions in charge of the second edition - will organize the tournament this year. All you have to do is to sign your team replying to this thread. For the few of you that are new to the Squadron Cup, the rules are easy: 3 vs 3 games on "all things being equal" scenario (3 Nieuport 17 vs 3 Shuckert D.I), on 8x8 board, advanced rules, default position, 5 days automove direct elimination tournament winning criteria is the control of the sky, if your plane is not on the map at the end of the game you are counted as killed (no matter if you exit with honour)
The third edition will introduce the qualification round robins to access the cup itself (and to grant a minimum number of games to all teams)
Depending on the number of teams that will join the event, we will go as follows: 16 teams: four groups of four teams, best two are qualified 20 teams: four groups of five teams, best two are qualified 24 teams: six groups of four teams, best team of each group and two best seconds are qualified OR eight groups of three teams, best team is qualified (still to decide) 32 teams: eight groups of four teams, best two are qualified
The tournament is open to all squadron registered on Lord_Loquax unofficial squadron page http://www.chimpage.com/bluemax/squadrons.html if you are not yet listed there just send him an e-mail.
Each squadron can join with up to three teams, when you subscribe the tournament please remember to specify the name of each pilot.
There is no limit on the number of pilots that each team can line-up.
More details on the rules will follow after subscribtion are complete, the target is to start the tournament in two/three weeks.
Have fun!

The Flying Tigers will field 3 wings, their disposition yet to be determined.
Flying Tigers 1 Flying Tigers 2 Flying Tigers 3
I think last year we had 10 Squadrons go with two wings, and 4 with single wings for our total of 24. I think most very active, fairly big squadrons, will also field 3 teams. Specifying the exact entries will take a little time, as each squadron leader determines who is active and available. Perhaps, much as I did, the final list date can determined later. |
