Simply he did not wait to see which way I was going to go and so there for is not tailing me. You can not simply state that you are tailing someone and not watch his tail, what would the point be in the tailing button. If this were the case then we all should just get a tailing bonus for every plane in our front arc.

Eh? You chose which plane to tail by hitting the correct button, then you can
chose to wait until that player has made his move and get the direction - there is no requirement to wait.
I've always wondered about this situation. I've had times when I could tail someone and already knew which move I wanted regardless of the other pilots move. It just sort of made sense to me that you don't get the bonus so I'm Regicide on this one. Seems a big silly to give a bonus for tailing someone when in reality you are not tailing them.
