Did you try this?
As the donation link automatically links to the italian donation page, you should take care of manually changing the address in the bar, deleting the "/it" section (e.g. from https://www.paypal.com
/it/cgi-bin/.... to https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/.... ) so to show the page in english.
