Message text First of all a pair of things: 1. Thanks so very much for such great fun you gave us with this, yet not finished, Campaign.
2. It sure is appreciated the hard work you did, and you sure do know already I'm here to help you running anything needed to run. All I need is some lessons on how to do what
1) Casualties
Sure thing Casualties makes it much more fun to play and I think it makes us think we are playing "seriously" so we should not take an unnecessary risk movement or we might lose a plane/pilot.
How to do it? I think we could start to think about it and test it for the next one. Maybe a balance of squadron's kill/killed might be good? If negative you lose pilots for next month, if positive you recover pilots. It should be easy enough
2) Missions
Here I think that the problem is too much work for just one person to run it. Other than this I find them great, and I might add that those missions we played in another Campaign with reckoning missions, bombing missions et all ran by greif8 should be great to look at. They were fun, and they had a background too.
3) Results/Admin
Once again, such BIG project should be ran by a team of guys and not just by one. Don't you think so? If work is shared by 3-4 people who want to take it seriously, Campaign would be fun for ALL and not somehow a pain for you, and making you think about making another one. Too much work for one's shoulders.
4) Ideas for next time
I would say first and most important should be to make the team to work about it thinking on the works that need to be done. And in this you have first hand knowledge. I can think of:
Web page's update work Missions posting and catch of results (points, kills,...) Contact person to answer questions and have people up to date on what's going on. And with people I mean just Squadron's Captains or Organizers. I mean communications should be organized in this way: Inside squadrons there should be one person in charge of "official arrangements" for Campaign games, doubts, et all Inside Campaign's organization there should be one person in charge of listen to these Squadron leaders.
5) Summary
Sure I understand you my friend. And the 1st question I'd do is: is there a chance for my point of view to be possible? Is it too complex and wouldn't work? Are there enough trustable players interested in this "work"?
If I'm considered one, I'm available to work and organize anything I'm able to.
