Good story.

There are at least two touring B-17s that I am aware of: "Aluminum Overcast", flown by the EAA, out of Oshkosh, WI, and "Sentimental Journey", flown by the Commerative (ne' Confederate) Air Force our of Mesa, AZ. I've flown both. Well worth the $300 or so it costs. The CAF also has a B-25 they give flying tours in. I think I'll do that one next.
