Boelcke's list of tactics
1. Try to secure the upper hand before attacking. If possible, keep the sun behind you.
Not applicable in current system
2. Always continue with an attack you have begun.
Golden rules but sometimes depends, if someone dare enough to allow me 0 hex shot to him, I will give up the previosu target
3. Only fire at close range, and then only when the opponent is properly in your sights.
Only long burst at 0 hex shot, or at least 1 hex shot without deflection
4. You should always try to keep your eye on your opponent, and never let yourself be deceived by ruses.
always the rules of thumb
5. In any type of attack, it is essential to assail your opponent from behind.
1st golden rule in BM and actually any shooting game
6. If your opponent dives on you, do not try to get around his attack, but fly to meet it.
when you in ss3 or snipe, and facing an Fokker VII or se5, I am in doubt with it. But generally yes
7. When over the enemy's lines, never forget your own line of retreat.
2nd golden rule
8. Tip for Squadrons: In principle, it is better to attack in groups of four or six. Avoid two aircraft attacking the same opponent.
In BM version, better to attack in groups of 2 or 3, avoid being attacked by 2 or more aircraft at the same time
And some of my other habits, 3. spend more gas at the beginning to meet the enemies, dog fight and fly back home. 4. if you are in a more manuevrable plane, makes the adv of the edge. 5. if you are lucky enough to fly within a large group of plane, try something different rather then the normal move (all your move is already cover in the attacker's group gun range, why bother ) 6. keep close to strong allies, like Bristol, se5a, snipe.
