Losing my religion Trying to keep up with you And I don't know if I can do it
Ok, now we have leagues. We are happy with it becuase was a demanding task to accomplish and we made it! You are happy with it because you can now play against a group of user and find out whose the best.
But, instead of discussing about what we have and evaluating (for example) the new scoring system or the way single games are managed, you ask for more!
Oh no I've said too much I haven't said enough
But that's the philosophy of this site: we do a small thing, we put it on line, and harvest comments and suggestions from you to enhance it and add features we didn't even thought about it.
Consider this
Team, squadrons, alliances, are not currently supported by the site. Maybe in a future we'll have squadrons support, but that's the future.
Consider this
Leagues are for all games, and all games except Blue Max are all vs. all games. For all other games the current League system is quite good.
Consider this
Your idea is a good one, but must be further investigate.
I imagine you mean you can create a 1 vs. 1 league, in which in every game all the players of a league use planes from a side, and the other team takes the enemies. Something like a challenge game in which is specify a league and not a list of players Should this kind of leagues be played by the same players, or by all pleayers of the team or by a subset of it? For example, imagine a 4 vs. 4 scenario. The simplest league I can imagine is a 8 games league in which 4 players of each team play against other 4 players of another team using all 8 planes available once with same team member using same side plane. But what if you have a 4 vs. 4 league and use 12 members from each team ? In each game not all players will be involved. So, which criteria do we need to use ? So, suppose you have a team. Why not adding pilots management to it ? Every team have a set of pilots and, in every league this pilot can play only once, moved by a single player. So you'll have a 4 players team having 25 pilots that play 25 different games against another team. Then you'll have experienced pilots, with special ability and when you create a new league, you can select which pilot will partecipate and using which plane.
I thought that I heard you laughing
So when you decided to challenge a team, you'll better have a look at their pilot roster in order to evalute what of your pilots use. Then you'll have pilot that survived 5, 10, 20 missions, thus becoming aces. Then you'll have alliances of teams. Then you'll have planes management: repairing damaged planes, instead of buy new ones. Training technician that will repair planes faster and better.
I thought that I heard you sing
Then you'll have pilot schools, to avoid having rookie pilot sent to dead against aces of other teams.
I think I thought I saw you try
Then you'll have so many other ideas come to mind...
But that was just a dream That was just a dream
