I think this suggestion has already been made in some other squadron related discussion, but I think it's time to bring it up again...
To me it seems a bit complicated to get squadron games going (especially when I get different squadrons mixed up

, will not happen again Rico71

). Password games only have a narrow 48 hours limit to access and getting the right password to the right people makes up for a lot of e-mails flying through cyberspace. I'm not yet acquanted with the gaming patterns of all my squadron mates (to be honest, I'm playing my first games with or against some of them) so it's always a guess wether enough players will show up in time. Challenge games have all the participants spelled out, so you have to tell eachother which players are currently available before setting up a game. Can't we start a Yahoo-group or a forum limited to squadron players so you can easely communicate passwords to all squadron players at one time, or keep track of challenges issued? Players could also post their on-line times or periods of absence without cluttering the Blue Max forum with messages of this kind.
Any thoughts?

I did suggest this a while ago, but there were a few reasons why I was unsure whether it was a good idea or not. It'd be another forum to monitor......but may well make it easier to form challenges.
Depending on how people feel, I might be able to get one and add it to the squadron site. How Any thoughts?
There is already three yahoo group for youplay purpose
http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/bmwwi/Maintained by Me and capt-tuttle.
http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/bluemax1918campaign/Maintained by carynus
http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/youplayitMaintained by ??
bmwwi and bluemax1918campaign is the most suitable. Currently bmwwi is silent and bm1918 is still active. You may feel free to use bmwwi, I can configure it so that Everyone can join but just moderator(team leader) can post in the forum so the pwd limit the abuse of the system.

I see your point Lord Locquax. But it would be nice to see all the challenges posted in one place with no need of e-mailing passwords to every player (which can get mixed up real quickly). We can make separate threads for each squadron to post pending games with their password so the players only have to quickly glance at one specific topic before going to the Blue Max page (even deleting old threads so there's a minimum of confussion). When you make that specific topic one of your website-favourites, it would save a lot of time for the players too. With Imdog's suggestion of restricting posting only to squadron leaders, this could lead to a clear cut system I think. And no more need of checking this forum
and your e-mail to large extent before logging in.
I think it would take a lot of the squadron members mind (the most likely victims of confussion), and a more fluid way for squadron leaders to keep their squadron informed (now causing some confussion with their members, this is mostly directed at myself

).
Using bmwwi looks good to me

I'm not that familiar with yahoo forums/groups. I was thinking more of a forum like this.....
here's something i prepared earlier.....
http://s3.phpbbforfree.com/forums/squadrons.htmlwhat does everyone think? The problem is that every squadron leader would need to register and monitor it (i'd be able to let them administrate their own forums)....and it would depend on every squadron using it. If only half the squadrons used it, would it be worthwhile? I'm not sure whether it would....
If every squadron member registered, it would be helpful as challenges could be made and pilots could be found, before a challenge game is created, preventing confusion. Similarly, it could be a place to recruit, form new squadrons etc.........
There are lots of positives and lots of negatives I think. If everyone could have a look at he board on the link above and give their opinions.....? The above board can be laid to rest of course if we choose not to use it - i thought it would be helpful to visualize it!

. I'm in favour for using it.
