Crumbs! Do you mean the old WRG Ren. rules?! I didn't think anyone knew of them these days!
SirFrancis
There are still one or two tournies a year here in the San Francisco area. Too many rules arguments to sustain regular play... Still my favorite game for the period.
International Pike and Shot Society, E-Class Fanatic, reporting for duty!
Amazing!
I was more of a 7th Ed. Ancients/SOA man... but I have been straight-jacketed into playing DBA/M/R due to lack of opponents.
Good luck in your games. SirFrancis
After playing WRG fanatically thru most of the 90's, our group nearly exploded from the stress of a game that required solid tactics and solid rules knowledge. Soooo, the mass migration to other games, ending in Rock Paper Scissors (DBM/DBR). Now we support the English economy through 40K. A number of our group are heavily into FOW.
I never played 7th ed. but DBM/DBR is a bit more than rock paper scissors. They are playable games not made to consult the rule books endlessly. I've seen some really nice concept games at various conventions. Its always nice to see them plotting for artillery on turn 2 - 5 hours later - everyone holding their respective rulebooks. Give me the "straightjacket" before that.
Warhammer ancients is gaining popularity in many places these days and just might have people crossing over though I have not played it. Some are even doing 6mm in many places but I will not paint that. 10mm warmaster is the smallest I have gone or will go.
To be honest, since my miniature gaming has been put on the shelf, I realized I enjoyed modeling the various armies more than anything else.
