Your requests for color options and adding new aircraft has been asked for a few times before and it seems pretty low on the priority list for our part-time webmasters I think.
Since you are interested in the decision to limit fuel on the German side in Blue Max, I thought I would mention that the designer has posted about his decision on fuel and many other topics relating to the game on this site. You can find his posts by setting the filter to 'Posters Name' and entering Phil Hall or Sundown, both are names he has posted under.
My memory could be completely wrong on this but I think he said he lowered the Germans fuel amounts to add another level of complexity to the game. (I kind of remember him also saying the DVII was also a major problem in game balance when it had 50 fuel units and speed 4 maneuvers.)
The webmasters have tried to stay as close to the original game as possible and are improving on that goal as time allows. (The scoring system being the only ADDITION to the rules to my knowledge, everything else is an omission or a very minor variance.)
