Lewis guns (not implemented on youplay) have ammo. Each load has 5 "slots": you use 1 for a short burst, 2 for a medium, 3 for a long. When the slots are exhausted, you need to fly an S to reload.
Particularly if you are on a Bristol, which in a crowded scenario gets to shoot very often, you may want to use short bursts (I often do when playing f2f).
