It has become apparent to me that I haven't let myself become fooled that this Blue Max is a real game. Maybe there were some variables I hadn't considered when I hastily posted the first note. For that I apologize Huskervick. Yes I am big enough to apologize. I do feel bad that I started this post bashing a rookie.
I regretably overlooked that-again, I apologize. Bad Form on my part.
However, I would NOT have left the board if I was in his position.
I only leave the board if I run out of fuel (which happens more than I'd like to admit) OR my engine is destroyed. I see no sense trying to fly with only 9L1, 9R1 or a 2S2 available. Yet I have luckily killed with those restrictions before. As well as some of you. However should I get shot down in those situations I regard it as my horrible flying skills and try to learn from it. Remarkably whether I get shot down or not I always seem to get to fly for another day. Unlike many REAL PILOTS in REAL war scenerios. Notice the word REAL.
What I DON'T do when I have all of my resources (fuel and manuevers) is fly off the board. Especially when the points are so close it could change the winners circle. That in my book is bad form. Ask any one I've ever played here. I'll stay until someone dies. PERIOD! I try to make it sporting and fun for my opponents.
I been trying to understand the point of view of saving my skin for another day. Those of you who do own that logic need to get up and GO OUTSIDE. There is a whole new world out there that has apparently been forgotten.
Zif...Ask your Mommy first, though. For God's sake look both ways before you cross the street. You can REALLY die out there.
You're not going to win a whole lot of prizes if you never run...
I mean, I thought
I was almost insane staying in a fight with a plane that has less than 20 points left
total. I still run when it's obvious I don't have any chance to come out ahead!
And going 1 D.III against 2 F2b is closer to sucide than I'm willing to go! If I'd been in a D.Va I might have stayed a little while.
No one wins prizes when they do win either.
