tomski in the dr1 made one small mistake - he stalled and this gave me tailing. Which gave me the shot on the next turn. Stalling is bad. So after a great shot, he threw caution to the wind and tried to take me down by stalling again (really, in tournament play this is probably a good move - you have already lost on points - and by stalling for a head to head you might get a lucky kill and win the scenario - my mistake was even allowing that shot - I should have moved away rather than let the dice decide. Lucky for me, they decided in my favour)
TnT wins this one on kills

this one was demonstrated how boring fights between two very equal pilots can be. I got off one long range shot in the dr1 - giving me a slight point edge. Now, given that I had already achieved a kill in the other game, I just needed to burn fuel - and we entered the spiral of death. Again, I made a mistake here. In order to burn fuel faster, I made some 8L2 moves to give tomski my tail - but forcing him to stall if he wanted the shot. tomski never took the bait. My theory here was that since I had more points in the other game, even if he got a lucky kill while stalling, our points would have been ~equal, thus giving us both one kill - but I would advance on points. However, he could also have just taken out my engine, then hunted me down for lots of points.
But, I was probably overthinking this - he never took the stall shot - so I burned my fuel and left the field.
Points tied.
So, TnT advances on kills
(and probably gave way too many hints on tournament play to other pilots ) |
