| | Message text I think our Skymasters would love to implement your pilot ability ideas, but that it is, unfortunately, too difficult or too time consuming to program given the simultaneous playing of several games by most players.
Some time ago, I suggested a poor mans alternative to tracking pilot abilities. Rather than have them be player specific, they could be made to be aircraft/scenario specific. My idea was to create alternative maneuver charts for each plane to reflect ace or novice pilots. For example, an aircraft with an ace pilot could have the restricted moves "renumbered" and moved to the normal move section of the maneuver sheet. In effect, such a plane would have no restricted moves. And a novice maneuver sheet might simply have the restricted moves eliminated to reflect their lesser abilities. Or perhaps extra +1 or -1 die roll modifiers, etc., could be programmed in for specific plane "types". The abilty would be tied to a unique plane type. If that special plane type were used in a given scenario, the player using that plane would gain the special ability for that scenario only.
To me this seemed feasable without needing huge changes to the code, but since I'm not a programmer, what do I know!
I think the idea of adding a Current Kills Streak (without pilot abilities tied to it) to the stats page would be fun, but probably still open to abuse by those that chose to do so. It has been suggested before, but not acted upon yet.
