Overall agree.
I remember of a weird situation when I turned a gliding move to my own advantage. I was flying a Spad XIII at speed 3 and a SSIV was chasing my tail at distance 2, then suddenly he wiped off my last engine point. When he read STRAIGHT, he couldn't imagine what a nasty trap was poised to him...
I don't think there was so much chivalry into the resulting explosion, but this was a last stand move and indeed it showed to be very effective.
