Flyng against the Sopwith Snipe (SS) you simply have to cover your wingmates, always. Think which is the most likely target of the SS next turn and then try cover him. Better if you do not expose yourself too much in the process.

And head to head [on almost equal combat tables] are obviously good in these pidgeon scenarios, but a smart SS pilot will avoid them at all cost.

Augh, the wise man spoke

(1) I always try to imagine perfect coordination with my wingmen, and act accordingly. If there is a set of moves which allow to "threaten" all the hexes the enemy can end up in, then I make my move accordingly. This happens several times in each game.

(2) Always try to keep the tail. If I am tailing, I prefer to choose moves which allow me to keep the enemy's tail, even if I have a reduced chance of hitting. This way I keep the enemy worried while my wingmen close in.

(3) Never cross a friend's line of fire (LOF). Imagine you are both going to try to hit in a certain hex, you are going at speed 2, and your pal is going at speed 1. Do not outrun your friend at speed 3 to get the shot at close distance: it is usually better to deliver a double strike from one hex further away and without the speed-3 penalty.
