Just note that spectacular acrobatic manuvers like loops are not particulary effective in BM, since you have to play a stright the turn before, thus getting somehow predictable.
but a 2s1 manuveur gives you the most possible moves the following turn so making it very difficult to predict what is coming the next turn!
The problem is that most people, when in doubt, plays a 2s1 or a 3s2, thus being indeed predictable. And then, after they played their beloved straight, they do not resist the temptation to loop, being indeed doubly predictable.
Not to speak of pilots who use loops to shake off their tail from opponents, not considering the key role of the tailing bonus (+2 at range 1).
Loops and other special manouver can be very useful, but they should be used with a lot of care. And you should consider that even the less manouverable planes like the Spad XIII can turn by at least 120 degrees in a single move, and that's better than 180 degrees in two moves.
So I would personaly add this corollary to the famous low about stalling:
Loops are not your friends
