Is it me, or do there seem to be more and more players, who have played in over a hundred games still using the 'Standard' rules, instead of Advance? I almost always refuse to play in a Standard game, and yes, I'm been shot down because of it. No one enjoys getting a Plane Explodes, or Pilot Killed. But it's a dangerous sport we play, and playing without those dangers seems a little like riding a 'Kiddy' Ride instead of the real thing. What's your take on it??
I agree. I never start a standard game and almost never join one. If I do join one it is because of a challenge or I messed up and didn't realize it wasn't advanced.
Everyone is entitled to play the game the way they wish, but it does take much of the excitement out of the game, IMO.
I do find it poor sportsmanship when someone (and we know who they are) takes only the best plane then makes the game standard, just about guaranteeing that they can't be shot down.
