Break us up into four leagues of four (best pilot in league one, second best in league two, third in three, fourth in fourth, fifth in one, sixth in two... etc)
Then, have round robin play within the leagues. Play each other pilot TWIC. Best pilot in each advances to next round. That leaves us with four pilots. Again, round robin play. Winner take all.
Winner is determined by kill +/- ratio. If you flee off ANY side of the board and have more than 5 fuel, or more than 50% undamaged, or more than 25% remaining in all sections (ie if no section has 75% damage) this is considered a kill by your opponent.
If you meet any one of the above criteria, you may flee off your own side of the board with no penalty. If you flee off the enemy side, this counts as a .75 kill for your oponent. If you flee of the top or bottom, this counts as a half kill for your opponent.
If two pilots have the same kill +/- then points decide the winner. If this is still a tie - play ONE game to decide who advances. Same rules apply to fleeing.
Note, if desired, we can also run "loser" brackets for the other pilots - those who place second play off, etc...
What do you all think? |
