Message text Sorry for being a bit of a troll myself. I would like to say something about this topic, however, trying not to be insulting to anyone.
While you read this, mentally add a bunch of "IMHO" in every line
-------------------------
Censorship.
This is almost never a good idea. Freedom of speech is a very important fundamental right. You webmasters have a very good reputation among we YouPlayers, and your words are taken very seriously. A "moderating" post can serve equally well your purpose, and leaving the "incriminated" messages on-line for everyone to see can serve as an example. Of course, there are exceptions to this (e.g. guglia's songs...).
-------------------------
The world out there.
I don't think there is any clear-cut distinction between "political" and "non-political" matters. The STOP Software Patents thing looks like a very good example to me. It is impossible to discuss about this in depth without talking about the EU, what it should or shouldn't regulate, or neglecting the socio-political-economical aspects of the US policy on patents.
I don't think it is a good idea to delete or forbid the political posts. There's a world out there, and we all live in it. This is a very big international community, and I think we all have something to learn from each other. For example, I'm very critical of live8, but I think players have a right to discuss these matters.
I also don't think deleting the discussion about the Italian referendum was a good idea. There were very inappropriate posts, this is true, but I think you should have deleted only the incriminated ones (again, guglia's songs...).
I think you could create an "off-topic" section in the Forum. This could be a good compromise.

Knights and trolls
In the past, there have been many cases in which incorrect behaviour from someone was well handled and corrected within the forum. For example,
1) Ashtar's "don't do it!" thread made me stop exiting from the wrong side whenever possible
2)Another example is Culone exiting from the map as soon as he had one point more than his enemy: after some insulting (for once, I didn't participate in this), he gave his excuses. Less insulting would have been better, but it worked.
3) And may I add a reference to the Pidgeon Squadron and Escadrille Lafayette? They did include references to the names of misbehaving pilots, but they did serve as a damping factor.
Most of the threads just deleted were about a (supposed) exceptionally bad behaviour. It is pointless to play with someone who is using multiple accounts. Since this site has no multiple-accounts-IP-screening (and I'm not asking for it!) public defamation seemed an effective way of dealing with the problem, given past experience. In addition, I'm glad to have been informed publicly about the thing, because now I know a few accounts to avoid. I am sure that if the player we're talking about had given his excuses at once, he would have been pardoned at once.
In short, I think it should be permitted to publicly point at someone's unchivalric behaviour, trying to be (not too) insulting.
-----------------------
Just my opinion, of course, and thanks for everything you do
