Take a look at this Many vs Many WSIM league:

Surrender Bonus he threw away at the opposing team. It equals to the points total of his ships multiply by 2!!!
In WSIM leagues only the winning side will get league points, loosing side gets nothing.
He's in the League I'm playing in and has not flown in any particularly irrational way. It may be that he decided that he didn't like WSIM and didn't realize the implications of his surrenders. Not sure he deserves public crusifiction for it though.
