I've had an idea that I mentioned in another thread and having given it more thought have done a little more work on.
What do you think of creating leagues of eight players and each person playing the others twice - once as the home player and once as the away, exactly the same way that football teams do.
I thought that the scenario : Mid War, 2 Players would be the one to use with the Dr.1 being the "home player" as it has a slight advantage in the scenario.
All games would use the full advanced rules as there is always the possibility of a shock result in football with the bottom team beating the top team.
At the end of the season the best two teams go up to the next league whilst the bottom two teams go down. Those in the top league are just fighting for top place.
We can use the league system already created and working on the site - and I'm happy to do the administration at the end of each season. I will need one player to create the following season's leagues as I haven't worked out how to create a league for eight other people to play in.
My thought was that we have:
League Division 1
League Division 2
etc
etc
Any new players who wish to join are created in a new lower league and need to fight their way up to the top. As with any National (or in our case International) League there will be those players who will always be challenging for top spot in the top league. The rest of us just need to try to beat them.
At any time a player may elect to leave the leagues but should they then decide to return they will start at the bottom again.
Initial leagues are created using a random generator I have so initially it will take a while for things to settle down. I could use the current statistics for this scenario but that will upset someone so my decision is to upset everyone so no-one feels left out 
What are your thoughts?
